Welcome to the Moors Darts League

We are a small league playing in some great pubs on and around the North Yorkshire Moors. If your new to the area take a look at these fantastic locations all serving excellent beer and food and of course they all have a dart board!.

Covid-19 2021 Season Announcement

After a few enquires recently regarding darts for the coming season we have been thinking about what to do for our league.

We have hesitated in making a decision due to changing guidelines from the government, however, in light of recent announcements we can confirm that there will now NOT be a 2021 season.

If circumstances change in the new year we propose then to hold the 2020 season finals and the AGM in which we can make a decision about running some events if we are allowed.

Please you can pass this information onto your team members in case they do not receive or see this announcement.

We wish everyone connected with the league our very best wishes and hope you all stay safe and see you soon.

Finals Postponed till further notice

Unfortunately due to current advice we  have had to postpone this Friday’s  (20th March 2020) Presentation and Finals Night. Hopefully we can reschedule in the not to distant future.

We hope that all members of the League stay well, and wish all the fantastic pubs in the League our best wishes in what must be an extremely troubling time. We sincerely hope to be able to see you all soon.

Sun Inn B Secure Title

Sun Inn B secured the Moors league title after cruising to a 9-1 victory at Crown Inn B. Their squad of players, Sarah Hodgson, Jon Scarth, Mick Hodgson, Dave Wray, Kev Reynoldson, Al Hodgson, Mick Ellerby and Nie Monkman performed consistently throughout the season to win by five points. It was fitting that captain Sarah Hodgson hit the double that clinched the championship in the first pairs leg while Richard Frank was the sole Crown winner. Buck Inn C are runners up after beating New Inn 8-2, with fine performances from Nigel Aconley (140,132 scores), Mick Barnes (140) and Robbie Preston (2x100, 89 finish). Colin Pepler (2x100) won individually and then in the pairs with Darren Marsh for New Inn's brace of points. Third place went to Sun Inn A who led Buck Inn B 4-3 after the individuals through John Bristow (180,2x100), Bob Sellars, Mike Brown (140,3x100) and James Boyes (5x100, 28 dart leg). They pushed on to win both pairs legs and the threes for a 7-3 victory, winning the separate pairs and threes table into the bargain. Becky Skaife, Steve Cass and Phil Pateman were the successful Buck players. Richard Sellars (2x140, 2x100), Mally Durrant (2x100) and Kev Fairclough (100) helped Blacksmiths Arms edge out Buck Inn A 6-4 and finish fourth in the league. Dave Cockerill (140) and Mike Peirson scored singles points for Buck who then won both pairs legs including a tidy 125 checkout from Chris Freer only to lose the match to Blacksmiths in the three-a-side. Crown Inn A went down 7-3 at Coach House but their three points were enough to lift them off the foot of the league, leaving Crown B with the wooden spoon. Chris O'Hara, Martin Myers (108) and Laura Thompson won important legs for Coach House while Mick Merrygold was the sole individual winner for Crown before their pairs teams won to make the final score respectable.
